Final Night of Miss America Competition in Las Vegas
January 13, 2013 - Over the past week, we've been following our hometown Miss Pennsylvania on her journey to the Miss America competition.
Of course the life show was in Las Vegas Saturday night.
Hours of hard work, and ultimately fun, for these women came down to
that final night of competition as we saw Miss America 2013 crowned on stage at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.
It was an energetic atmosphere at the competition.
Miss New York Mallory Hagen was shocked when she was chose by seven celebrity judges to become the next Miss America.
It was a difficult choice for the judges because they said all contestants were outstanding this year, but ultimately one had to stand out among the rest.
"This was a difficult, difficult selection," said Sam Champion, judge. "We were told to throw in all of our experiences when they came up and not to go easy on them and this is the result."
"This turned out to be a much more challenging and difficult and pressure filled week than any of us anticipated," said Mary Hart, judge.
Unfortunately only one woman could be crowned, but all of them walked away as winners, including Miss Pennsylvania.
Jordyn Colao says this entire experience will provide her with a lifetime of memories.
She's also thankful she had the chance to walk the stage at Miss America.
