Flu Cases on the Rise in Erie County

January 14, 2013-  It's officially flu season in Erie county... Driving hundreds to their local physicians offices with complaints of achy bodies, sore throats and high fevers...
So far , 447 cases of the flu have been confirmed.
160 of those were new and just reported last week....
And a grand total of 47 people have been hospitalized, this all according to the Erie County  Health Department...
And flu shots are in high demand at Walgreens on 38th and Peach.
Pharmacists tell us they have been giving out 40-50 a day.
Doctors and pharmacists say the flu is fully preventable... And you need to wash your hands often and utilize hand sanitizers.
