Local Reaction to Obama's Gun Plan
President Obama addressed the nation today regarding one of the hottest topics since the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre.
It's a plan that Obama says will curb gun violence across the country to protect the youth and every American.
The President was joined by American children today who wrote him letters asking him to take action.
Based off of several meetings held by Vice President Joe Biden with more than 220 organizations, President Obama signed 23 executive orders today.
The plan includes mandatory background checks for all gun purchases, including private sales, reinstating a ban on some assault style weapons, ban high capacity magazines holding more than ten rounds and crackdown on illicit weapons trafficking.
Some say the plan is just to please those who want more gun restrictions.
An ABC News/Washington Post poll released on Monday says 65 percent of Americans favored new restrictions on high capacity magazines.
