January 22, 2013

After seven years of arguments...a date has been set in the trial of the Erie County Convention Authority VS Nick Scott Sr...

The Convention Center Authority is looking for close $3 million in this lawsuit...saying that Nick Scott Sr should pay them for breaking the contract the two had to build a restaurant and hotel included in the Bayfront Convention Center..

The Convention Center Authority pursued other options such as a publicly funded project after dropping Scott as the developer...

Scott sued the authority seven years ago arguing that it breached its contract over the Bayfront development...seeking over $2 million in damages...

That same year the authority sued Scott saying he flat out broke the contract, and in 2011.. The authority won... The trial is set for February 14th.
