Are You Unknowingly Breaking the Law?

watch video
January 23rd, 2013

Our region has seen more than a foot of snow over the past several days, and because of that, many people are breaking the law, maybe without even knowing it.

There are laws on the books that say you must clean off your vehicle of ice and snow.

It didn't take long to find drivers who are on the highways not being able to see out their rear windows, or driving with snow on the roof that blows onto traffic.

Your headlights and taillights also need to be free of ice and snow.

And yes, even your license plate needs to clean.

These laws are not just for your safety, it could be a reason for police to pull you over.

Again, snow covered windshields, license plates and snow on top of the vehicle are all things that are on the books and could result in you being fined if you're stopped.

Take those extra couple of minutes and clean off your car or truck.
