Citizen Wants Fishing Surcharge Revoked
Do you think there should be an extra charge to fish in the lake?
One fish licensing agent raises his concerns over a surcharge to cast your line in Lake Erie.
At a Sons of Lake Erie meeting last night, Richard Weber talked about eliminating the Lake Erie stamp on Pennsylvania fishing licenses.
The stamp carries an extra charge of ten dollars and is needed to be able to fish in Lake Erie.
It's the only great lake where such a stamp is required.
He believes history shows no need for the extra charge.
Weber also said the stamp could possibly keep people from coming to Erie to fish the lake.
