Millcreek Supervisors Still Have Issues with Sheetz

January 29th, 2013

Millcreek Township supervisors were given drawings today for a proposed Sheetz project at the gateway to Presque Isle.

Supervisor Joe Kujawa says there are still a couple of problems with the new drawings, including the height of the sign.
Supervisors wanted the sign to be 8 feet high, but the drawing shows the sign standing 20 feet tall.

Another issue is the signature color of Sheetz, bright red. Kujawa says he wants that toned down.

Yet another issue is the access points between the El Patio Motel and the Sheetz.
The drawings show speed humps; however supervisors wanted the access points blocked off with visually appealing blockades.

This will all be talked about at the February 5th meeting.

Seems to me, that there ARE enough places to put another Sheetz without losing the potential tax revenue that would still be coming into Erie from another Sheetz...Move it somewhere else that it would not detract from the gateway to Presque Isle. Case settled, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out, Wow, just NO common sense anymore, what a shame!!

Have any of you driven down Peninsula Drive during the summer months? Peninsula Drive cannot handle the additional traffic that this would cause.
