Albion Fire Department Receives $20 Thousand Dollar Grant

JANUARY 30, 2013- The Albion Fire Department received a special grant that will take their fire fighting skills to the next level.

The department received a grant in the form of $20 thousand dollars from Allianz Fireman's Fund Insurance Company.

The department used that grant to purchase two thermal imaging cameras.

These cameras can sense body heat and help firefighters discover trapped victims in times of an emergency.

In addition, the cameras can detect where people are in the dark and feature a temperature gauge.

The cameras have a hefty price tag of ten thousand dollars a piece, but the grant covers that.
