250,000 Books Given To At-Risk Kids

    February 1, 2013 - Thousands of at-risk kids in the region have brand new books of there own thanks to a local group working hard to create a love of literacy.

    Today the Erie Chapter of Books for Kids celebrated a major milestone. The all volunteer organization has provide 250,000 books to underprivileged children in Erie county. Without their help, thousands of kids wouldn't have books in their homes.

For once, I agree with you Micheline. I've been a fan of this group since they began. But as a community, we need to do this sort of thing everyday and start to turn this town around. Even though there is so much more we can and need to do, this is a step in the right direction.

THIS is an awesome thing!! I LOVE hearing stories like this, just think...a quarter of a million books FOR KIDS!! YAY!!! Every Child deserves as high quality Education that they can possibly receive, and these Books For Kids programs help SOOOO much more!! They can get a book at a highly discounted price, so if you have a couple of dollars extra you'd like to donate to a good cause...you might like this one!! :)
