Protesters Rally Outside of Gov Corbett's Office

FEBRUARY 4, 2013- Just a day before Governor Tom Corbett's budget address, protesters in Erie are rallying against his tax cuts.

More than 50 people rallied and cheered outside of Governor Tom Corbett's office on State Street Monday afternoon in hopes of bringing attention to Governor Corbett's tax loopholes and spending cuts.

"We need to better tighten up tax loops. They're basically stealing our money," says Darnell Stallworth.

"Pretty frustrated with him cutting jobs, and wages and cutting taxes for big companies," says Greg Anderson.

Protesters claim Corbett's corporate tax breaks have cost the state of Pennsylvania a billion dollars each year since he has entered office.

And the cuts to local schools, universities and other services are unnecessary.

"Governor Corbett continues to cut and slash home health care ... school budgets and things that important to community. While he lets corporation keeps the money," says Stallworth.

They say Corbett's plan to use funds from selling off state assets to fund education, healthcare and senior services has crippled the economy... and that corporations are the only ones who reap the benefits.

Protesters plan to head to Harrisburg tomorrow morning.

A bus trip has been scheduled and they plan to demonstrate outside of his office.

Sorry, but Corbett is WRONG to do all of those cuts to local schools, universities and other services, school budgets and things that important to community. He is the one who has crippled our economy!! I worked HARD for my Social Security, and to make sure my kids and Grand kids get a great education, but Corbett is only interested in HIMSELF!!! He does NOT care about anyone else in PA.!!!

The people that protest are the ones that don't work or expect the government to support them.
