State Universities Edge Closer to Contract
Prospects for a settlement between members of the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Professors and the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education seem to be brightening, according to media releases from both bodies. The two sides have agreed to what they call the framework of an agreement.
That framework was presented to and accepted by the presidents of the 14 sets of university faculties during a conference call on Monday.
Next steps in the road toward ratification is consideration by the APSCUF legislative assembly.
If that body approves, then the contract proposal goes to the 5,500 members for a ratification vote.
If the faculty approves the contract, the document goes to the PSSHE board of governors for their approval.
The process could take as long as three weeks.
