February 5th, 2013

It's American Heart Health Month, and it's also the 10 year anniversary of the Dean Ornish Program.
The Ornish program has been scientifically proven to reverse heart disease and help with weight loss.

In may of 2012, 44-year-old Brian Swantek suffered from heart attacks, and underwent quadruple bypass surgery.
He enrolled in the Dean Ornish program at the UPMC Hamot Heart Institute to get his health back on track.

The Erie native and father of two teenage daughters could not bear the thought of leaving them fatherless.

Swantek says since he's been on the Ornish program, his cholesterol is lower and his sugar levels have been good.
