breaking news
Sunday was opening day of the Full Monty at the Erie Playhouse... A show sponsored by JET-TV.
The stars of the show are all local guys and they proved sometimes it really is easiest to pretend the audience is in their underwear...especially when the leads are in their underwear.
The Full Monty is a show about six guys who get laid off from work. With homes to make payments on, child support to pay and high maintenance wives, the guys decide to try and find a quick fix to their money problems. They get together and decide to put on a strip show!
Along the way, the men realize they are not exactly in stripping shape and become a little self conscious but discover friendship and comrodary can get you through anything.
They debate on whether or not they are going to go the "full monty" but then end up selling so many tickets they just go for it.
The whole show builds up to the final scene at the strip club called “Let It Go!” when the guys take it all off. The leads said the most difficult part of the show was getting used to the velcro rip away clothing. They agreed they enjoyed making fools of themselves.
" Why not, its not called the partial monty."
" Getting the gusto to get out there and do it was hard too, but once youve done it, it just becomes easy, but I heard some of the guys say werent scared, I dont know who they were kidding, I was scared but you get over it."
The Full Monty runs at the Erie Playhouse until June 24th.
