February 14, 2013 - Two bayfront properties want to be tax-exempt, but the City of Erie is opposing that request.

RCR Yachts and the Bay Harbor Marina say that under a 2011 ruling involving the Port Authority, they should be tax-exempt.

Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott says the two were looking at challenging their reassessment value and have come to this decision.

"Those are definitely for profit businesses and so we're very against the exemption side of that and we've now intervened and will be fighting that," Sinnott said.
