Truck Accident Knocks Out Power in Local Neighborhood

power outageSome Erie residents were without power Monday morning after a truck knocked an electrical wire loose. The accident happened near the intersection of Old Perry Highway and Old French Road shortly after 2:00 a.m. The driver lost control of his truck, drove through a yard, hit a guard rail, and pulled an electrical wire out of the ground. The driver of the truck fled from the scene. Penelec was called to replace the wire and power was restored. Police are investigating.
