Families from the Erie area took part in the 8th annual Winterfest at Frontier Park this afternoon. Winterfest was put on by the Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier, LEAF.

There were many fun things to do, both indoors and outdoors, including face painting, sledding, horse-drawn carriage rides, and ice fishing demonstrations and activities from the S.O.N.S of Lake Erie.

The event was free for the public.

There were also a couple of competitions going on throughout the day, including a recycled sled race (sleds were made out of recyclable items) and a duck race, in which half the proceeds from the race went to the winner, and the other half to LEAF.

The Winterfest was followed by the first annual Full Moon dance party at 1501 West 6th St and Frontier Dr.
