Erie Police have not released the name of the woman who is in serious condition at UPMC Hamot.
Erie Police were called to the 1100 block of West 21st Street Monday night for reports of harassment.
Police Chief Steve Franklin says the driver of an SUV was reportedly driving erratically in the neighborhood.
"The report was she was driving in the area erratically, going through a stop sign almost hit another vehicle was making threats towards a female as well as the family that lived there," said Chief Franklin.
Police talked to the family, and as the officers were leaving the house, they saw the suspect driving south on Raspberry Street.
"As our police unit tried to catch up to it, it proceeded at an even faster rate of speed west bound through stop sign on Raspberry, nearly striking several vehicles north bound on Raspberry," said Chief Franklin.
Erie Police made several attempts to stop the s-u-v but the driver continued to loop the neighborhood.
Police say she eventually struck about six vehicles before losing control, rolling the vehicle and was ejected on to the pavement.
