Supervisors Expected to Approve Plans for West Erie Plaza
An eyesore in Millcreek Township may soon be getting an update by the end of this year.
At a meeting tonight, Millcreek supervisors are expected to approve plans for New West Erie Plaza development, moving the project forward.
VCG Properties bought the West Erie Plaza back in 2012.
About a year later, supervisors have plans for the first phase of what the developers want to do in the plaza.
The plan supervisors are expected to pass tonight is about a 6 thousand square foot building that would have three tenants.
The building would be located on West 12th Street where the old Marquette Bank and Taggart's Shop for Men use to be located.
Officials from VCG Properties could not confirm any of the three tenants because the leases have not been signed yet.
McGrath thinks one could possibly be some type of fast food.
An ordinance was recently passed giving VCG Properties more options for the plaza
The ordinance is called "The Traditional Neighborhood" design, that will allow for retail, condos and residential areas if the owners choose to do so.
Phase one is a separate structure not part of the strip in West Erie Plaza.
