Sequester Could Harm Erie City School District
FEBRUARY 27, 2013- Congress has until Friday to agree on spending cuts or automatic cuts kick in.
The Erie City School District is one of those that may be affected by the Sequester.
Erie City School District Superintendent Jay Badams says it is out of the district's hands and up to Congress.
The Sequester could cost the district 100's of thousands of dollars in both federal programs department.
That accounts for 7 to 10 percent of the budget.
Depending on Congress' decision, Badams says the Sequester could possibly cause layoffs in the district.
Badams says Erie City School District's Special Education Programs could also see deep cuts.
