Peace Vigil

watch video
The Erie Peace Initiative marked the growing loss of life in Iraq with a peace demonstration Monday evening. Dozens of peace activists lined Eries Bayfront Parkway for the drive home this afternoon near West 8th Street. The demonstrators held 171 white flags to honor each of the Pennsylvania servicemen and women killed in Iraq. The death toll of Americans killed in the war has now climbed to 3,500. While this groups supports the troops, and demonstrates for peace, it opposes the war and wants American troops brought home.
