Mother Accused of Killing Son Enters Guilty Plea

March 4, 2013 - The woman accused of killing her 5 month old baby in a Millcreek motel pleaded guilty to lesser charges today.

Leslie Holmes, 23, was charged with homicide after killing her 5 month old, Jasper, in February of 2012.

She pleaded guilty to an amendment of the homicide charge.

Instead of homicide, she pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child.

The charges stem from the death of her son Jasper Holmes.

He was found in respiratory distress at the Riviera Motel in Millcreek on February 9th and died at a Pittsburgh hospital 11 days later.

Holmes could face a maximum of 17 years behind bars and a maximum fine of $40,000.

Her sentencing is scheduled for April 11.
