March 7, 2013

March is National Nutrition Month.

A nutritional diet is key to staying healthy, but with that comes the need for exercise.

It's not always easy to get moving if you have been neglecting your workout routine.

Whether you're a person who exercises regularly, or someone who'd like to get into a workout routine, March is a great time to start.

YMCA Program Director Michele Schroeck says that finding a time to work out is key to your success. Early morning can be tough, but after work is also hard to do. She says it's more mental than physical, and that we just need to make up our minds to exercise.

The Glenwood Park YMCA offers a variety of classes that can fit into your busy lifestyle.

Yoga, meditation, cycling, swimming, and boot camp are all options.

Sandra Lutheringer is a registered dietitian. She recommends incorporating extra water and lean protein into your diet both before and after you work out.

Eating Fish, poultry, eggs, low fat dairy products and yogurt are all foods that will keep up your strength and keep you healthy.
