It was the unclaimed property treasury hunt where residents could find out if they are owed money from closed bank accounts, uncashed checks, and lost stocks and bonds.

Janet Winkowski is one of more than 100 people who found out today the state treasury department is holding onto money that belongs to her.

Out of the 1.5 billion dollars that the treasury department holds, more than 11 million belongs to Erie County residents.
