Tree Takes Down Powerlines in Wesleyville

Down PowerlineA section of road in Wesleyville was closed Thursday morning after a tree snapped overnight, taking down some powerlines. The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning. A large tree apparently snapped and fell across East 30th Street, taking down some powerlines in the fall. Wesleyville Fire Department had to close a block of East 30th St. between Shannon Road and Highland Avenue. Crews were on scene chopping up the the remnants to clear the roadway. Penelec was on the scene to fix the electrical wires. No word on if any homes lost power.
