While many fathers spent quality time at home with their kids on Sunday, some fathers spent quality time at the hospital.
What better gift on Fathers Day than to be a first time dad? Action News caught up with two proud first time fathers at Hamot Medical Center and both of them were overcome with emotion.
" It’s fantastic, the most amazing thing, still dont have words to describe it."
"Amazing, just amazing, I mean words cant describe having your first son and especially on Fathers Day, it’s just, it blows your mind."
Both Brian Kelly and Ryan McDonough celebrated the holiday at Hamot Medical Center with their wives and newborns.
Brians daugther, Natalie Rose, was born at 9:24 AM and was a honeymoon baby!
Ryans son, Pierce, was born Saturday afternoon. Ryan is in the military on active duty and was supposed to report to Seattle last week and had his report date changed so he could be here for the birth. He says Pierce is the best gift he could ask for.
Midwife at Hamot, Peg Boyd, says Fathers Day was emotional for her as well.
"To watch dads as we birth their children and bring them into this world and have them share in that awesome event is for me a very personally rewarding experience. "
Hamot Medical Center had four Father’s Day births ... All of them daddy’s little girls!
