Three Men Save Accident Victim's Life

watch video
State police say an accident victim has quick thinking neighbors to thanks for saving his life Sunday morning. 18-year-old Andrew Hall was northbound on North Moisertown Road in Cussewago Township when he lost control on a curve and hit a ditch. The car then struck a small tree and flipped several times, ejecting Hall from the car. The car came to a final stop on top of Halls chest. Three men who heard Halls screams from their homes lifted the car off him while a woman pulled him free. Action News had an exclusive interview this evening with two of the heroes who helped save Andrew Halls life. The two men, Reverend Dennis Hendershot and John Dinger dont think the term "hero" is appropriate as they agree they simply did what any human being would have done. The tire marks and down trees in Reverend Hendershots yard are reminders of what almost took a life, had it not been for neighbors who took matters into their own hands. "I ran down here and he was saying help me, help me and a man was pinned under a Taurus." The man Andrew Hall had the whole weight of his car on his chest and was conscience the whole time. Reverend Dennis Hendershot ran out of his house and attempted to lift the car, but it was just too heavy. So his wife, Helen, called the neighbor John Dinger and his son, Daniel, to help. The three men put their power and prayer together as the Reverends wife dragged Hall from beneath the car. Dinger says the first time they werent able to lift the car up but the second time was another story." "When we first tried to pick that car up that car wouldnt budge that car wouldnt budge the second time we picked that car up it just like it floated off of ‘em, so it was very dramatic and to pick that up far enough to scoot him out ya know it wasnt us it was, it was God." Neither of the men are taking credit as heros as they believe divine intervention took over when the car landed in the reverends yard. The two men said there are often accidents at this location in fact the Reverend’s mailbox has been knocked over multiple times and they just wish there would be a sign warning people of the sharp curve ahead. Hall was flown to Hamot Medical Center where he is was in fair condition Sunday night.
