Copper Wire Thieves

watch video
Copper grounding wire was cut and stolen from dozens of Penelec utility poles in the neighborhood north of West 26th Street from Midland to Peninsula Drives. It happened sometime between Friday night and Sunday morning. The thick wire is meant to protect homes from the surges caused by lightning strikes. Millcreek police notified Penelec security of the incidents, but so far, no arrests have been made.
