Governor Rendell says there will be no sales tax increase in the new state budget.
He says there is no need to raise taxes with the states growing economy and increased revenue.
Rendell says the state will be able to support public services with taxes at their current levels.
In other budget news, Governor Rendell and other Pennsylvania politicians called on Congress to increase funding for the state childrens health insurance program.
The program provides health care coverage for uninsured children.
