Time is running out for faculty members at Pennsylvanias 14 state owned universitys to come to a contract agreement with the state.
The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education submitted a new proposal to the union representing the faculty members earlier this week.
The current contract expires on Saturday.
Union President Dave Obringer said the big issues are salary, healthcare and family medical leave.
Both sides agree its important to maintain competitive salaries and benefits to keep high quality faculty in Pennsylvanias schools.
Theyll continue negotiations on Thursday and throughout the weekend.
