Fireworks Hazards
The 4th of July is nearly here and that means many people will be celebrating with fireworks.
Officials say if your setting off fireworks, be careful not to ignite dry grass or bush on fire.
Fire officials say it can happen before you know it; a controlled burn transforms into a fast-moving brush fire.
Dry conditions and gusty winds in the area are often to blame for the fires spreading out of control, but officials say so is human carelessness, so be careful.
Nationwide there are between 8,000 and 12,000 fireworks related injuries every year. The majority of those injuries happen to children under the age of 14.
