breaking news
Nine Erie city school teachers have failed to meet state requirements and that could cost them their jobs.
The state mandates that all teachers go back to the classroom, but some teachers aren`t keeping up with the requirements.
Erie city school superintendent Doctor Jim Barker says 80 teachers were warned last year about meeting state requirements.
Barker says the nine who still have not taken the necessary classes have until august first to complete the credits or they`ll be fired.
Eleven city teachers have been fired in the past 5 years for the same reason.
