Old Cell Phones Help Elderly
Officials in Erie County want your old cell phone to become a new life line for others.
The Erie County Sheriff`s Department and the Triad program have set up collection points all over the county to collect old, unwanted cell phones.
The donated phones are then re-programmed to call 911 only.
The goal of the program is to give seniors and other individuals access to emergency services anytime, anywhere.
