Officials Investigate Possible Dog Fighting

Authorities are trying to determine whether the remains of seven dogs found on the eastside could be linked to dog fighting incidents. They were found Monday morning at 702 East 21st Street. Another seven starving and injured dogs were rescued from the home. Preliminary reports show the animals may have been involved in some type of struggle. The homeowner says he`s responsible for four dogs, but officials found as many 16 animals - live and dead - on the premises. This a joint investigation is underway by the District Attorney`s office, Erie Police and the Humane Society.
