Millcreek School Board Looking to Make Budget Cuts

The cost of education in Millcreek is going up next year, but your tax bill is still a question mark. The Millcreek School Board got it`s first look at the preliminary budget for the 2007-2008 school year. The $77 million dollar spending plan contains a 4.75 percent increase in spending. By state law, a tax increase can`t exceed .57 mils. Now comes the job of making cuts to the almost 9000 line items that make up what is actually a "wish list" for the district. The next step is meeting with school principals and department heads to see where the cuts can begin.
