Old Man Winter Returns With a Blast!

Old Man Winter is back with a vengeance bringing with him freezing temperatures, snow, and ice and making for some dangerous driving conditions. Both the North and Southbound lanes on Interstate 79 were closed for several hours Thursday following a chain reaction accident near mile marker 159. Firefighters say 16 vehicles were involved, including six tractor trailers. Poor visibility and wet roadways are being blamed for the accident. At one point traffic was backed up for about four miles between the Edinboro exit and mile marker 170. Amazingly, officials tell us no one was hurt. That was not the case in Crawford County where another weather related accident killed one person and sent two adults and two children to the hospital. This crash took place on Route 27 near Fauncetown Road. PennDOT says it does have all its trucks and crews out on the roadways. The cold blast is expected to last through the holiday weekend.
