Local Family Displaced After Fire

Erie Firefighters braved the chilly temperatures to put out a fire at an apartment building on 2402 East avenue Friday afternoon. The occupants of the 4-unit complex all got out safely. Deputy Fire Chief, Jeff Carroll tells Action News 24 that the fire began in a first floor bedroom, where it was contained. He says there was significant smoke damage throughout the building. At least one family was displaced. The Red Cross is putting them up.
