Area golfers got some bad news yesterday when it was finally confirmed that Erie Golf Course will not be open this summer. That decision has left a lot of golfers disappointed. Judge Stephanie Domitrovich dismissed a request for a preliminary injunction to open the golf course. City officials are pleased with the decision and are ready to sell the course. They also hope its an omen that the next decision, which is a request for a deed restriction to be lifted, will also come down in favor of the city. Golfers, who frequent Erie Golf Course say the closure is a big disappointment, especially after the course recently received a number of costly renovations.
