When state legislators return to Harrisburg, they may have to vote on a bill, restricting the rights of gun owners. The proposed Firearms Registration Act would require people to register every gun they own. Exceptions would only be made for antique weapons or for guns used by law enforcement. A ten dollar annual fee on each weapon is also proposed, along with fingerprinting and background checks. The bill has been sent to the Judiciary Committee. Representative John Evans sits on the committee and opposes the bill. Evans has started a petition to stop the bill on his website. You can sign his petition by goig to his website at www.repevans.com. Representative Flo Fabrizio also says he would vote against it, if it makes it out of committee.
