West Side Shooting

ShootingErie Police are investigating an early morning shooting on the city's west side.

The incident took place around 6:45, Friday morning in the 300 block of West 16th Street.
Erie Police say the victim in this case is 28 year old David Killpatrick.

Killpatrick apparently went to alleged shooters house, an argument took place and shots were fired outside the home. Killpatrick suffered two gun shot wounds to the back of his body and was taken to Hamot Medical Center.  Hours later Killpatrick told police who was responsible for shooting him.

"Our suspect has been identified and is at our station at this time his name is 31 year old Luis Burgos, he lives in the 300 block of 16th street. " Captain Frank Kwitowski, Erie Police Department

The suspect will be charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and possessing an instrument of crime.
