West 12th Street is getting a much needed face lift. Its PennDOTs first major road restoration project of the year. Monday, crews began ripping up West 12th Street, preparing to resurface a stretch of road running from Greengarden Boulevard to State Street. The $2.5 million dollar project also includes patching concrete from Greengarden to Pittsburgh Avenue. PennDOTsays there'll be no detours associated with the undertaking, but drivers should expect intermittent lane closures and restrictions. The West 12th Street repairs are expected to be completed sometime in July.
