watch video
It's National Child Abuse Prevention Month and groups throughout the community are gathering to educate parents and children on the dangers of child predators. The Thrive Student Center of Erie along with the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice will be sponsoring a child abuse prevention seminar this weekend. As the problem of child abuse continues in communities across the nation, these groups want to get the word out about predators, internet safety and other ways to prevent child abuse. Children attending the seminar will also learn about strangers, unidentified phone calls and chat room safety. The child abuse prevention seminar will take place this coming Saturday from 9 A.M. until 2 P.M. at the Family Worship Center located on Parade Street.
