A Millcreek Township school administrator is getting ready to sue the district. Maryann Anderson, the districts personnel director, has filed a writ of summons against the district on claims of inappropriate spending and hiring practices. The writ names the school boards Vice President, Susan Sullivan, and the Superintendent, Dr. Dean Maynard, as the key defendants. Andersons lawyer Charles E. Steele presented the districts lawyer, Tim Sennett, with a report last Thursday. That report claimed that the district does not carefully monitor travel expenses that are costing taxpayers more. It also claimed that the district uses unfair hiring practices by employing personal friends in top positions instead of more qualified candidates. Anderson says she will only file a lawsuit as a final measure, she just wants to see change happen in these practices.
