Students Support Kanzius Cancer Research

Eries public and parochial schools are joining in the fight against cancer. The students, faculty, and staff will be raising money for the John Kanzius Cancer Research Fund. Friday, Central High School students presented Kanzius with a $1,000 check, the first of what they hope will be many. The school district and other local organizations have named their effort the "Community United for a Cancer Cure." Kanzius says he is overwhelmed by all of the support. Students will be selling buttons that say, "Erie United Cure for Cancer" at locations all over town. The buttons are five dollars. All of the proceeds will go directly towards research.
