Election Problems
The Erie County Board of Elections along with Erie County Officials are getting ready for the May 15th - Primary Election. The groups performed a "public" test on Erie County's touch screen voting machines Friday afternoon and it appears some problems were found.
All county ballots and voting machines were available for public inspections today.
Election officials tell us a problem was found on the Republican ballot. The ballot wrongly gave voters directions to pick only one candidate for the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court. Voters should actually choose two candidates.
Absentee ballots that were sent to 200 Republican voters will now have to be corrected and re-sent to those individuals.
JET-TV was told Erie County will now have to re-program the software for the touch screen voting machines.
The Erie County Board of Elections has been clearing and testing all of its 638 touch screen voting machines over the past several months.
The primary election is May 15th.
Polls will be open from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm.
