Meadville Country Club Gets Makeover
For months there's been talk of financial difficulties and potential new ownership at the Meadville Country Club.
But now we know the direction for the club.
A few months ago, Allegheny College was looking to acquire the club, but now members have stepped up to help run it.
Business is booming this year at the Meadville Country Club, but it took club officials some time to get it to where it is now.
President Matt Co-Polla says country club business is challenging all over the country,
Families are spending money in different places, especially in small communities like Meadville.
That's why the country club had been talking with Allegheny College about the possibility of the college taking over to help them out financially.
But instead, a few club members have stepped forward to help run it.
And some of those ideas include a stylish new makeover.
And there's also a pastry caf to enhance the dining experience.
Managers hope the new improvements bring a metropolitan feel to the club, and they're concentrating on keeping everything fresh.
Co-Polla says they are going to continue to renovate more of the club and he's excited to see what the future holds.
