Man Charged in Sex Crime

sex crimesAn Erie man accused of having sex with a 14-year old girl will be going to trial.

20 year old Robert John Elwell of the 3300 block of Burton Avenue is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and corruption of a minor.

He was in Erie County Court,  Wednesday for his preliminary hearing. Erie Police Detectives say the charges against him stem from an incident that took place back in May of 2006.

Elwell allegedly had sex with the 14 year old girl at his residence when he was 19.

All charges have been bound over to court.
