Extended School Year
The end of the school year is almost here, but the head of the convention and visitors bureau went to Harrisburg to talk about the other end of the school year. John Oliver testified before the tourism and recreational development committee on Wednesday. He wants the state to pass legislation to push back the start date for school until after Labor Day in the fall. T
he tourism industry says the later start would extend their season, and keep their workforce of high school kids on the job longer.
