The financially troubled Conneaut Lake Park was scheduled to open July 4th, but now some of the rides may be up and running much earlier. Park General Manager, George Deshner, says he is waiting to see if a $104,000 grant comes through. Deshner wouldn't release very many details about the money, including the source of it. If the funds are given to the 115-year old amusement park, areas like the Beach Club, Hotel Conneaut, Camperland, and the Dreamland Ballroom will be ready for the public on Memorial Day. About 70 % of Kiddieland will also be operational. Officials say they expect to find out about the grant on Friday.
