Ads Target English

watch video
Just as the US House prepares to introduce another iraq war spending bill an ad series targeting the presidents Iraqi war strategy has been launched. The commercials say President Bush has ignored his generals in the battlefield. Thursday, a group critical of the Iraq war, VoteVets.org, was in Erie to show their support of this half a million dollar ad campaign featuring former Major General John Batiste. The key phrase in the spot is "protect America, not George Bush!" It’s the first of three commercials released recently. Members of VoteVets.org say keeping troops in Iraq is risking Americas security. But Erie County Republican Committee Chairman, Brad Moore, says the message in these spots is confusing, considering the duty of our troops. Congressman Phil English says that the commercials are a weak attempt at stimulating debate on the war in Iraq.
