Mercyhusrt Explosion

watch video
It was a lesson in the a-b-c's of explosives for students at Mercyhurst College on Tuesday. Everything from pipe bombs to fertilizer-based devices and dynamite was demonstrated for law enforcement officials, e-m-s personnel and college students in Mercyhurst college's applied forensic sciences department.

Tuesday's exercise was made possible by a grant from the department of homeland security. The grant was issued to the tripwire operations group of Gettysburg.

The group travels around the state to give emergency officials and students a first hand look at the power and variety of explosives.

They may come across. The first responders course in explosives....runs through Friday....and gives participants classroom presentations, field labratories and as you just saw... Pratical exercises.
